The Coaches
James Houser - Coach / MLB / Founder
Just like many of you, I started playing youth baseball at the early age of 6 years old at the Little League of Sarasota, Florida at the Twin Lakes Park. Baseball was a big part of my life as I continued playing throughout grade school and eventually made the Sarasota High School Varsity Baseball Team. At High School I was beginning to get noticed. Fortunately my hard work paid of and I was drafted 38th overall in 2003 as a Starting Pitcher by the Tampa Bay Rays.

My professional baseball career took me from the Rays to the Marlins and then on to the Orioles. My days in professional baseball then came to a halt while I underwent open heart surgery in 2011. I fully recovered and continued to play in the Independent league for a year. I went on to play in Puerto Rico, Mexico and Taiwan. While traveling back from Taiwan I was picked up by the Colorado Rockies where I finished out the 2014 season.

After the season was over, I went to Venezuela for winter ball and then decided to retire from playing to be closer to my family. I accepted an offer at IMG Academy in Bradenton, FL as a pitching coach. I continued to coach there for two years until I decided to go in my own direction with baseball. I have continued to give lessons to all ages during my years as a professional player and even after my playing career.

I have been coaching various travel ball teams for the past few years and have decided to take on providing lessons as my full time career. I have many years of personal experience with the game from a Little League, Travel, High School and Professional Player's and a Coach's standpoint. I would love to help your child develop into the person and player they aspire to be.
